A protected coast
The sea at Dafina is part of Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park, declared in 2010 and described by Albania’s National Tourism Agency as the only marine park of its kind in the country. The shore belongs to the Karaburun Managed Nature Reserve. The park’s 2014 management plan described the western beaches of Karaburun, Dafina among them, as clean, quiet and very attractive.
Names on the map
In Albanian the bay is Gjiri i Dafinës. Maps label its shore Dafina Beach, and the same name appears on Maja e Dafinës, a peak above this stretch of coast.
